What if..?

Think of specific instances when this strategy of failure is most commonly used..
Such as when a women knows she is being cheated on and instead of confronting her husband and his mistress and maybe coming face to face with a break up, she ignores the elephant in the relationship and pretends as though nothing is happening. Most cases are entirely destructive in all aspects.

Can you think of any times when failing on purpose would bring about a positive ending?

Why even go there?

We've all felt what it's like to be a failure. Ya know, the sinking feeling in your stomach that won't go away, the looks of disappointment in the people around you? What if you never had to feel like that ever again? It would be easier to just not do things you know you'll fail at. If you set all expectations a little lower than everybody elses, you don't have to feel anything but good when you surpass those expectations or apathetic when you meet them. It's easy to prevent yourself from feelings of inadequacy. Things will always be predictable, but comfortable. That doesn't mean happiness is impossible. Feeling like a failure will only bring you down, especially if you can't change the outcome no matter how many times you attempt to. Imagine the stress free, worry free life you can lead this way. Do you really think it'll be worth it?

Radiohead - Creep

This song embodies the essence of my theory. The artist sings about feelings of inadequacy among his peers and instead of pushing through his insecurities, he gives up.
"But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell I'm doing here?
I don't belong here.."
